Job Description
The Captain Waiter – Persian Cuisine is responsible for leading and supervising the service team in a Persian-themed dining environment. The role requires deep knowledge of Persian culinary culture, strong leadership in guest service, and the ability to train and guide waitstaff to deliver a refined, authentic, and engaging dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Operations:
- Greet and escort guests to their tables with professionalism and warmth.
- Ensure guests are offered menus, specials, and detailed descriptions of Persian dishes and drinks.
- Supervise and support waiters and runners to ensure smooth service flow.
- Upsell signature items and make personalized recommendations.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and address concerns promptly.
- Ensure tables are properly set and cleared in a timely manner.
Skills
Team Coordination:
- Brief team members before each shift about the menu, specials, and any VIP guests.
- Train and coach new staff on service standards and Persian menu knowledge.
- Communicate clearly with the kitchen and bar teams to coordinate orders efficiently.
- Assign side duties and oversee completion (station cleanliness, refills, setup).
Product Knowledge:
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of Persian dishes.
- Explain ingredients, preparation, and cultural significance to guests if needed.
- Be able to handle questions about allergens, spice levels, and dietary needs.
Compliance & Hygiene:
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, grooming, and uniform standards.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and service policies.
