The key to this mission is strategic, large scale initiatives that will allow us to scale our organization for the future in an extraordinary manner. The Supply Chain team is seeking a talented, innovative, hands-on and customer-obsessed candidate to own the short and long term capacity planning vertical for a network of darkstores. The candidate should possess high business acumen, strong analytical, collaboration and data driven influencing skills. Ideal candidate should have superior written and verbal communication skills and able to own multiple tasks at once.

The capacity planning PM will be responsible to drive the short-term operational tasks related to capacity planning and support the team in mid/long term strategical projects and evaluations.

Key job responsibilities:

  • Own reporting of the critical capacity planning metrics across FCs.
  • Accumulate data from different sources, conduct analysis, recommend solutions, build action plan and drive execution.
  • Support operations team with capacity analysis and drive capacity execution with supply chain stakeholders.
  • Foresee implications based on the projected storage capacity requirement vs available storage capacity in the region and come up with innovative and optimal storage solutions to support capacity storage requirements.
  • Regularly audit the sites for operational conformance, norms of capacity planning and standard operating practices.
  • Own capacity configurations in the tools (ACMS) to avoid physical-virtual mismatches in the reported site’s capacities.
  • Work with engineering design and FC launch project team to ensure all the design inputs are considered as per the standard requirements.
  • Drive execution of critical capacity planning projects to enhance network capacity and optimize bin slotting changes.
  • Own short terms tasks and evaluations related to network topology.
  • Own long term topology planning in partnership with strategy and Dex teams.

About the team:
The Supply chain and Launches team plays a key role in the mission of delivering best in class service to Amazon’s customers through scaling and expanding the network. The team coordinates project plans and tracks execution across stakeholders from business, technology, design, procurement and construction teams.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in an analytical field such as Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics
Previous experience (1-2 years) in Fulfillment Centre capacity planning roles
Experience of owning and leading end to end improvement initiatives with proven track record
Excellent analytical, data proficiency and problem solving skills
Relevant experience in analyzing large data sets, data quality, and data warehousing to identify improvement opportunities
Knowledge of following tools: SQL, Advanced Excel, Macros
Ability to multi-task – manage multiple sites simultaneously and capability to work on different projects in parallel with high attention to detail.
Ability to set the right priorities and work in a highly customer obsessed, competitive and high pressure environment.

Preferred Qualifications

PG/UG from reputed institutions. Engineering graduate preferable.
Raises bar on statistical Skills.
Past experience of working in Fulfilment Centers preferable or large distribution centers.
