The Role of the Cafe Boulud Assistant Manager – Restaurant Hostess

The role of a Café Boulud Assistant Manager – Restaurant Hostess is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of a hotel's all-day or fine dining restaurant. Responsible for planning, organizing, controlling, and directing the work of employees, they play a vital role in maintaining high levels of guest satisfaction.

As a Café Boulud Assistant Manager – Restaurant Hostess, you are responsible for creating and implementing efficient systems and processes to ensure seamless operations. This includes overseeing scheduling, monitoring inventory levels, managing food and beverage quality standards, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Effective communication skills are essential, as this role requires collaboration with various hotel departments to coordinate functions and special events. Additionally, you will work closely with kitchen staff and chefs to maintain smooth coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house operations.

Your role also involves leading and managing a team of five employees while prioritizing restaurant operations.

Nestled within our establishment, our world-class spa offers an array of indulgence across 8 treatment rooms for male guests and 1 treatment room designed exclusively for female guests. This haven of rejuvenation also encompasses high-end facilities and a meticulously outfitted fitness center.

Our Spa department boasts a diverse and dedicated team of 25 colleagues, all committed to providing exceptional service to our esteemed guests.

Knowledge and Skills

  • College degree preferably specializing in hotel / restaurant management.
  • 2 – 3 years of restaurant management experience in a luxury hotel or resort.
  • Ability to react and adjust to changing business environments and lead the team in ensuring effective communication across diverse cultures in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.
  • Working knowledge of division operations, Four Seasons cultural and core standards, policies, and standard operating procedures, generally learned on-the-job.
  • Ability to operate computer equipment and food & beverage computer systems.
  • Strong communication skills and an innovative mindset.
  • Financial management skills for business operations.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Effective delegation and operational skills to manage high-volume settings.
