Brief Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Buyer II is responsible for the purchase and planning of materials, equipment, parts, supplies, and services to meet the quality, cost, and inventory requirements of manufacturing and operations across Saudi and Oman operations. This role works in close coordination with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery of goods and services, while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting operational efficiency.

This position reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager or designated supervisor.

Detailed Description

  • Process Requests for Quote (RFQ) and Requests for Proposal (RFP); prepare and issue purchase orders with proper approvals.
  • Source and procure materials, components, equipment, or services necessary to maintain production flow.
  • Ensure purchased items are delivered on schedule and follow up on delinquent orders.
  • Expedite purchase orders and maintain the open purchase order report.
  • Conduct and support inventory audits and data entry for inventory cycle counts.
  • Monitor quality and performance of goods and services received.
  • Coordinate returns with suppliers and manage quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with established internal control procedures and procurement policies.
  • Analyze purchasing options and negotiate to make cost-effective decisions.
  • Support development and tracking of supplier performance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support operations across Saudi Arabia and Oman.

Job Requirements

  • Strong understanding of purchasing practices, vendor management, and inventory control.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of analyzing procurement options and making sound decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to work extended hours when needed.
  • Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications

  • General Secondary Education Certificate (GSEC)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Buyer or Purchaser role.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to travel across Saudi Arabia and Oman as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • APICS (Association for Supply Chain Management) or CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) certification.

Additional Details

The Buyer II requires the ability to work in a time sensitive, high visibility role while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor when adversity is encountered. Work is primarily in a climate controlled / office environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
