Role purpose
The Business Manager - Office of the CEO serves as a strategic advisor and integrator, acting as the bridge between the CEO, executive leadership, and the wider organization. The role ensures seamless execution of CEO priorities, robust data-driven insights, and disciplined project coordination. In addition, the role provides occasional executive assistance support to safeguard CEO focus and effectiveness.
This role is central to supporting strategic decision-making, ensuring execution discipline across business-critical initiatives, and delivering high-quality dashboards, analysis, and reports that enable the CEO and Board to make informed decisions.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES
- Strategic & Executive Coordination
- Act as the primary liaison between the CEO and senior management, ensuring priorities are clearly communicated and executed.
- Support the CEO in agenda-setting, follow-ups, and strategic decision tracking.
- Coordinate the preparation of Board and Executive Committee materials, ensuring accuracy, insight, and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Monitor execution of CEO directives, escalating risks and delays, and ensuring accountability across functions.
- Data, Insights & Reporting
- Lead the development of executive dashboards (Power BI, Excel) that track KPIs across sales, operations, HR, finance, and customer satisfaction.
- Translate data into clear insights, scenarios, and recommendations to support CEO decision-making.
- Standardize reporting frameworks across departments to ensure data consistency, comparability, and integrity.
- Deliver ad-hoc analysis and executive summaries to support strategic initiatives, Board queries, or market shifts.
- Project & Initiative Management
- Oversee the coordination of CEO-sponsored projects, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget.
- Act as the PMO for the CEO, tracking milestones, dependencies, and risks.
- Support cross-functional initiatives (e.g., IPO readiness, expansion projects, operational excellence campaigns).
- Produce project scorecards and performance reviews for executive oversight.
- Executive Office Operations & PA Support
- Provide occasional personal assistance support to the CEO (e.g., calendar prioritization, travel, confidential correspondence).
- Ensure the CEO is briefed with talking points, background notes, and data packs for meetings and public engagements.
- Safeguard strict confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive company information.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ROLE
Experience & qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
- 5–8 years of experience in a business management, strategy office, or project coordination role.
- Demonstrated expertise in data analytics and visualization (Power BI, Advanced Excel, Tableau a plus).
- Strong background in executive communications, project management, or PMO functions.
- Prior experience working with C-level executives in fast-paced, multi-branch organizations preferred.
Knowledge & skills
- Technical & Analytical
- Mastery of Power BI and Excel (pivot tables, macros, modeling).
- Strong knowledge of KPI frameworks, business dashboards, and financial analysis.
- Project management methodology (PMP/Prince2 certification desirable).
- Highly skilled in putting together impactful business presentation, adept at using both established tools such as PowerPoint and Canva, but also new Ai-driven presentation tools such as Gamma etc
