Job description

An BMS Technician will support the Engineering Team to efficiently maintain all hotel operations, ensuring safety, security, conservation, and compliance at the highest levels.

What will I be doing?

As a BMS Technician, you will support the Engineering Team to ensure that engineering and maintenance operations within the hotel, including general property maintenance and energy conservation, are functioning properly and to standard. You will also be responsible for the development of the Engineering Team and staying updated on compliance regulations and procedures relevant to hotel standards. Specifically, you will:

  1. Actively participate in BMS projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
  2. Install, program, and troubleshoot BMS-related hardware and software components based on predefined points lists, wiring diagrams, and customer requirements.
  3. Commission and test BMS software and devices, both on-site and remotely.
  4. Perform periodic preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of BMS installations.
  5. Design, assemble, and test control panels, ensuring correct wiring, operation, and safety compliance.
  6. Integrate BMS and REMS with IT infrastructure by configuring network settings and communication protocols like BACnet/IP and Modbus TCP/IP.
  7. Keep your technical training and skills up to date.

What are we looking for?

Our Hilton engineers and technicians work on behalf of our guests and collaborate with team members. To succeed in this role, you should embody the following attitudes, behaviors, skills, and values:

  1. Higher Diploma (MQF level 5) in Industrial Automation, Electronics, Controls, or equivalent.
  2. At least three years of experience in a similar field.
  3. Familiarity with various BMS platforms (e.g., Honeywell, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Distech) and protocols like BACnet.
  4. Good ICT skills, including experience with applications such as MS Office.
  5. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for control panels.
  6. Good written and verbal communication skills in English; fluency in Maltese is a plus.
