BMS Application Senior Engineer

Job Description

The primary responsibility of this position will include programming of BMS systems and functional testing of BMS systems. This will include designing, implementing, verifying, and maintaining a library of code throughout its lifecycle. Additional responsibilities will include ownership of software for assigned systems. Individuals in this position must review customer requirements, including software system development requirements, software and hardware specifications, and provide feedback when system Sequence of Operations are not functional from a system standpoint.

Principle responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Create BMS system programs according to Sequence of Operations
2. Create functional tests and prepare sites for commissioning agents
3. Create and maintain appropriate software documentation, including high-level system descriptions
4. Work independently and collaboratively with a small team to solve technical and market challenges
5. Interact cross-functionally to develop solutions
6. Evaluate and recommend technologies and practices to improve development
7. Maintain working knowledge of emerging concepts and technologies
8. Design graphics using TGML and collaborate while following and improving standards
9. Resolve software defects and work with technicians in the field to resolve issues

Qualifications

1. Higher education degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline
2. Knowledge of BACnet protocol, along with Modbus and LON3 protocols
3. Experience with development and maintenance on graphics platforms
4. HVAC mechanical knowledge
5. Strong analytical and design skills
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced, changing environment
8. Experience with front-end web development technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) is a plus
9. Wireless network experience, such as ZigBee Smart Energy, is a plus
10. Passion for energy efficiency, energy management, and green technologies is a plus
