Job Title: BIM Coordinator

Job Description

The BIM Coordinator is responsible for overseeing BIM projects, ensuring proper coordination, data management, and collaboration among various stakeholders. The role includes technical, managerial, and collaborative tasks essential for successful BIM implementation.

Responsibilities

1. Project Coordination

• Determine project BIM geo-reference points and ensure all technical discipline models are properly referenced.
• Coordinate equipment deployment, including conveyors, CCTV, power supply, data points, fire services, etc.
• Collaborate with suppliers to receive compatible 3D models.
• Manage BIM file exchange and archiving of milestone submissions.
• Identify changes in incoming models from external parties.
• Attend BIM progress and coordination meetings.
• Manage shared file server / CDE usage.
• Support sales phase activities as Vanderlande's BIM spokesperson (in collaboration with the Sales Engineer).

Data and BIM Data Management

• Ensure quality and proper review of all BIM-related documents.
• Maintain and update BEP and EIR documents.
• Provide BIM-derived 2D information for printing, conforming to CAD standards.
• Ensure information delivery at milestones and for contractors.
• Manage Revit project templates and provide feedback for template improvements.
• Define data exchange formats (DWG, IFC) and manage IFC knowledge.
• Carry out clash detection and assist engineers in clash resolution.
• Perform model coordination and support clash reporting and communication.

Team Management and Guidance

• Serve as Revit expert and project consultant for layout engineers and BIM modellers.

Model Building and Maintenance

• Upload/download BIM documents.
• Assemble composite models for coordination meetings.
• Deliver design outputs as per specified formats (e.g., PXP).
• Maintain BIM models during installation and as-built phases, including point cloud data when necessary.

Tools, Accounts, and Permissions Setup

• Ensure interoperability of different software used in the project.
• Coordinate team file management and shared server setup.
• Interface with BIM and IT managers to ensure proper software installation and operation.
• Determine project BIM geo-reference points and verify model referencing.
