Job Purpose
The Accounts Specialist is responsible for handling financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role plays a key part in managing accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, and financial documentation while collaborating with internal departments and external stakeholders.
Main Job Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable & Receivable Management
- Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documents, and ensure timely payments.
- Monitor outstanding receivables, follow up on collections, and reconcile customer accounts.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date accounts payable and receivable ledger.
Financial Record-Keeping & Compliance- Ensure all financial transactions are recorded in accordance with accounting principles.
- Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate financial records.
Bank Reconciliation & Cash Flow Management- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in cash flow analysis and forecasting to support financial planning.
- Ensure accuracy in financial transactions and proper reconciliation of accounts.
Expense Management & Budgeting Support- Monitor company expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
- Assist in preparing periodic expense reports and financial forecasts.
- Work closely with departments to optimize cost management.
Tax & Regulatory Compliance- Support VAT, Zakat, and other regulatory filings by maintaining proper documentation.
- Ensure tax compliance in financial reporting and coordinate with external consultants.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations and accounting standards.
Financial Data Analysis & Reporting- Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and analysis to support decision-making.
- Assist in identifying financial trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Generate financial insights and recommendations for business improvement.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and MS Excel. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Certifications: CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Languages: Fluent in Arabic and English.
