Job Description

The post holder will manage the development of bids and presentations. They will work closely with bid leads and other stakeholders to drive delivery of submissions and presentations. The goal for this position is to provide input to the bid process and provide clients with clearly differentiated proposals that demonstrate why they should work with Turner & Townsend.

Responsibilities

  1. Review RFPs and advise bid lead on requirements impacting Bid/No Bid decision.
  2. Develop the bid plan including creating win themes with the bid lead.
  3. Facilitate bid Kick-Off meetings with the bid team and technical leads.
  4. Proactively manage the end-to-end bid and review process, ensuring all contributors understand expectations for content and timelines.
  5. Incorporate local knowledge, evidence, and research, and adhere to writing style/branding guidelines.
  6. Ensure submissions are targeted to their audience, with an evidence base and innovative approach, as advised by organization experts and best practices.
  7. Customize pen profiles and CV content to better position our proposed team aligned with bid specifics.
  8. Proof and edit bid response documents to ensure compelling propositions that meet client needs.
  9. Follow governance processes, including Risk Management and fee sign-off/approvals.
  10. Review and amend drafts considering feedback from peers and Directors.
  11. Ensure bids are fully compliant with client requirements by reviewing documents and showcasing our abilities and experience.
  12. Create presentations for post-tender interviews, using bid content and tailored material as needed.
  13. Support wider team in pipeline management activities and contribute to board reporting on pipeline, conversion, and lessons learned.
  14. After submission, extract key information from tenders to improve best practice collateral and marketing usage.

  • Ability to contribute to bid/pursuit strategy and influence senior leaders, including challenging strategies when necessary.
  • Experience in managing work responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Critical thinking skills to develop, manage, and deliver high-quality bids on time.
  • Strong English writing skills, including assessing and editing content for clarity and persuasiveness, harmonizing tone, and ensuring consistency.
  • Ability to write original content for summaries and other sections.
  • Excellent proofreading skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective time management to handle multiple submissions simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, English, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint; experience with design software like InDesign is preferred.
  • APMP Foundation certification is advantageous but not required.
