Job description

Job Purpose

The role holder is responsible for providing technical expertise related to customer solution design for IoT solutions across multiple stc markets. They will advise on operational work processes and mandates to minimize technical and operational risks, ensuring duties are carried out in accordance with business policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

1. Advise on the design, monitoring, and optimization of architecture components for IoT applications, service architecture, technology, information elements, and technical solutions to ensure compliance with the Enterprise Architect framework.
2. Coordinate with Enterprise Architecture to align Consumer/Enterprise/Functional Change Requests (CRs) with STC's technology strategy and roadmap.
3. Evaluate gaps between current ('as-is') and future ('to-be') states and define transition strategies to address these gaps.
4. Assess technical blueprint designs for solutions, considering technical capabilities and financial constraints.
5. Support the development and implementation of testing programs covering database impacts, software scenarios, regression, negative testing, and usability.
6. Recommend changes to high-level solution designs to ensure alignment with business requirements.
7. Assist in designing and implementing services such as network designs, VPNs, hosting, OS, databases, servers, virtualization, and archiving systems.
8. Review and evaluate existing designs within STC to identify improvements in infrastructure services.
9. Provide periodic analysis and capacity forecasting for network, application, storage, backup, server, OS, database, and security infrastructure.
10. Develop cloud computing strategies and architectures aligned with business needs, assessing necessary technologies and vendors.
11. Support integration of cloud infrastructure into existing application operations management processes.
12. Advise on suitable technologies that meet STC's specifications for customer design, testing, and implementation.
13. Ensure adoption and compliance with world-class infrastructure and application design and engineering practices.
14. Provide recommendations and remedial actions for complex escalations to prevent delays or issues.
15. Assist in formulating and communicating design and engineering initiatives.
16. Analyze reports and metrics to identify issues and implement preventive measures, maintaining awareness of technological developments for relevant projects.

Experience and Education

• 8-10 years of experience in network design within the telecommunication or technology industry.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering; Master's Degree preferred.
• Prior experience in network design in telecommunication or technology sectors.

Skills

• Knowledge of telecommunication regulations, data collection & analysis, application design principles, data processing functions, and system data structures.
• Knowledge of fraud management, intrusion detection, and security investigation.
