Job description

Job Purpose
The role holder is responsible for providing technical expertise related to customer solution design for IoT solutions across multiple stc markets. They will advise on operational processes and mandates to minimize technical and operational risks, complying with business policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

1. Advise on the design, monitoring, and optimization of architecture components for IoT applications, service architecture, technology, information elements, and technical solutions to ensure alignment with the Enterprise Architect framework.
2. Coordinate with Enterprise Architecture to ensure that Consumer, Enterprise, and Functional Change Requests (CRs) align with STC's technology strategy and roadmap.
3. Evaluate the gaps between current (as-is) and future (to-be) states and define transition strategies to address these gaps.
4. Assess technical blueprint designs for solutions, considering technical capabilities and financial constraints.
5. Support the development and implementation of testing programs covering database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, bug retests, and usability.
6. Recommend modifications to high-level solution designs to ensure they meet business requirements.
7. Assist in designing and implementing services such as network designs, VPNs, hosting, OS, databases, servers, virtualization, archiving, and server consolidation.
8. Review and evaluate existing designs within STC to assess capabilities and identify potential improvements.
9. Provide periodic analysis and capacity forecasting for network, application, storage, backup, server, OS, database, and security infrastructure.
10. Develop cloud computing strategies and architectures aligned with business needs, assessing technologies and vendors for private cloud deployment.
11. Support integration of cloud infrastructure into existing application management processes.
12. Advise on technology choices that meet specifications and STC requirements for successful testing and implementation.
13. Ensure adoption of world-class infrastructure and application design and engineering practices.
14. Recommend remedial actions and measures for complex escalations to prevent delays or issues.
15. Advise on the formulation of design and engineering initiatives for effective communication and implementation.
16. Analyze reports and metrics to identify issues and undertake preventive measures, maintaining awareness of technological developments.
17. Perform other related responsibilities as assigned by the line manager.

Experience & Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network design within the telecommunications or technology industry.
• Knowledge of telecommunication regulations, data collection & analysis, application design principles, data processing, fraud management, intrusion detection, and security investigation.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering
• Master's Degree in Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering (preferred)

Additional Certifications

Relevant certifications are advantageous.
