Job description
Overview

Functions as an Avionics/Electrician Technician, specializing in aircraft electrical systems. Conducts unit-level maintenance on aircraft electrical, navigational, and avionics components, adhering to the specific aircraft Operators Manual, Maintenance Test Flight Manual, Check List Manual, and customer or specific directives. Diagnoses and rectifies malfunctions in aircraft systems and components, including solid-state and transistorized devices, following relevant technical manuals, directives, and safety procedures. Utilizes common and precision measuring tools, performs operational checks on aircraft electrical systems, and tests, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems test sets and diagnostic equipment. Assists the Customer in requisitioning and maintaining Shop and Bench stock items for repairing aircraft avionics systems and instruments. Performs operator maintenance on common and special tools, AGSE, and PGSE, prepares aircraft maintenance forms and records, and ensures all related operations are carried out safely.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures that aircraft electrical maintenance functional activities and procedures among designated organizations are planned, coordinated, integrated, and synchronized to achieve established platform operational readiness (OR) rates IAW contractual requirements.
  • Responsible for the compliance with established maintenance systems, processes, procedures and reports that provide immediate situational awareness of platform OR rates.
  • Establishes daily aircraft electrical maintenance operational goals, objectives and priorities for implementation in-order to achieve stated OR rates.
  • Oversees the daily aircraft electrical maintenance management of individually assigned aircraft in support of the Production Control (PC) Manager, in conjunction with the Aviation Logistics for related platform parts and spares.
  • Works within the maintenance quality control processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Directs inquiries, investigations, and research analysis related to aviation electrical maintenance of the aircraft and supporting maintenance activities to the PC Manager.
  • Coordinates activities and requirements for maintenance operations support with the PC Manager.
  • Coordinates through Production Control for daily and weekly maintenance training activities.
  • In coordination with the PC and Flight Operations Managers, supports the Downed Aircraft Recovery Team (DART) processes and procedures.
  • Other tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Education: High school diploma required; Associates degree preferred.
    • FAA A&P certificate.
    • Five (5) years' experience as an AH-64E, UH-60M, OH-58D aircraft electrician.
  • Experience:
    • Graduate of a US Military aircraft electrician maintenance course or civilian equivalent.
    • Previous experience in unit level electrical repairs on the supported aircraft.
    • Qualified by the appropriate USG armed forces aircraft electrician maintenance course or civilian equivalent required.
    • Proficient in the use of computer-hosted interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms, and other aircraft related documentation.
    • Possess a valid U.S driver's license and Passport.
    • DD214 required for military experience.
    • Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include medical, drug testing, background checks, etc.
