General Information: You as an SAS Engineer will be part of Schneider Electric Energy business based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. You will act as the responsible commissioning engineer overseeing the installation, commissioning, and services of substation automation systems for assignments classified as medium commissioning complexity. Your responsibilities include managing the completion of all commissioning activities efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Technical contribution: Acting as the lead for commissioning activities on a project. Ensuring professional interactions with the customer, interfacing with customers and external providers for approval of plant acceptance criteria, issue resolution, and performance testing. Coordinating site activities to finalize customer acceptance certification. Representing commissioning at project and design review meetings. Contributing to and managing the implementation of the project commissioning philosophy. Developing standard processes and tools to ensure compliance with safety regulations and contractual requirements.
- Knowledge & experience: Knowledge of third-party products and systems.
- Sales support: Assisting in preparing proposals, bills of materials, and engineering hours.
- Contract management: Supporting contract managers with claims, scope changes, and risk assessments. Ensuring solutions are cost-effective, within budget, and adhere to safety standards.
- Planning and control: Creating work plans, reviewing scope, budget, and schedules. Ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables.
- Risk and opportunity management: Conducting real-time risk assessments during commissioning, reporting issues, and supporting contract claims.
- Customer interaction: Engaging with customers, officials, and contractors, attending meetings, and presenting engineering aspects.
- Supply chain management: Collaborating with supply chain to ensure technical requirements are communicated and met. Evaluating supplier proposals.
- Technical leadership and knowledge sharing: Maintaining a network of engineering professionals and sharing best practices.
- Processes and tools: Developing and applying standard techniques, ensuring compliance, and suggesting process improvements.
- People leadership and development: Coaching and supporting colleagues, assigning tasks, and possibly leading small teams.
- Safety and integrity: Upholding Schneider Electric's values by ensuring safety and integrity in all actions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- At least 2 years' experience as a Commissioning Engineer for SAS systems and products.
- EPAS L1/L2 and L3 training/certification.
- Experience with execution projects including EcoSUI, EPAS, GTW C264, and various system architectures.
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as IEC101, IEC104, Modbus, DNP3, and IEC 61850.
- Experience in EPAS design, configuration, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of NG standards communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
