Job Purpose

  • Consult with our clients to communicate their application needs to our development and engineering team. Demonstrate our products to our customers when required.
  • Application Engineer responsibilities include providing technical support to our clients and assisting our sales team with demonstrations and prototypes throughout the sales process.
  • Provide technical support during product approval testing and Factory acceptance.
  • Ultimately, you will work directly with our clients and provide support for our sales, engineering and development teams as needed.

Key Accountabilities

These will include:

  • Provide clients with technical support as needed and relay information to our sales and engineering teams for ongoing development.
  • Provide support to the production team during customer approval process and FAT.
  • Optimise Smart switchgear application/solutions by integrating new technologies as enhancements.
  • Contribute to sales presentations, as well as demonstrating product and completed integrated applications to customers.
  • Perform diagnostic tests, fault finding and debugging installed solutions.
  • Generate ideas for smart switchgear application innovation based on market trends.
  • Document development processes, procedures and application version histories
  • Keep up with advancements in automated switchgear engineering and new technologies.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical engineering
  • Proven work experience as an Application Engineer or similar role
  • Previous experience in sales or customer services is advantageous.
  • Extensive experience in deploying, optimizing, and maintaining automation applications.
  • Proven knowledge of automation integration, communication protocols and platforms.
  • Distribution Switchgear knowledge will is advantageous.
