A leading healthcare institution seeks a medical specialist in Genitourinary & Gastrointestinal Oncology. The role involves providing patient care, managing clinical responsibilities, and supervising trainees. Summary
Assists in providing medical care in the field of Genitourinary & Gastrointestinal Oncology, and supervises interns and residents, in accordance with current medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, and the hospital policies and procedures.
Clinical Responsibilities:
Assists the consultants in providing required patient care and management in the field of Genitourinary & Gastrointestinal Oncology, following standards of medical care laid down by the Healthcare Delivery.
Studies, performs assessments, examinations, and compiles case histories. Assists in diagnosis and management of patients according to criteria in diagnostic manuals such as the DSM.
Registers detailed medical histories, conducts thorough physical examinations, and creates management plans with follow-up discussions with the consultant. Records orders, progress notes, and other required documents for outpatients.
Provides on-call coverage for the specialty on a rotational basis during evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Prepares for and participates in consultant and specialist ward rounds, documenting findings in medical records.
Follows up on investigation results for outpatients and modifies treatment accordingly.
Attends specialty clinics, outpatient clinics, and shares on-call schedule as required.
Performs other clinical responsibilities as assigned.
Academic Responsibilities:
Provides orientation, bedside training, and supervision of interns, residents, and fellows as assigned.
Keeps abreast of the latest techniques and developments in the field, implementing them selectively to improve standards.
Participates in educational activities and training programs of the department.
Participates in national and international medical conferences.
Education
Graduation from a recognized medical school, completion of postgraduate training in a specialty/subspecialty, with Saudi/American Board or Canadian/UK certification, or equivalent as approved by the Medical Staff Credentialing Committee.
Experience Required
Two (2) years of training in the specialty and subspecialty, plus post-training experience.
