The Role

In this role, the Associate Manager, Project Engineer, will lead a team of project engineers and work on various projects to implement and improve DGM's control systems, providing ongoing customer support to ensure reliable performance and world-class customer satisfaction. Working from DGM's Medina, Minnesota campus, and at customer sites as required, the successful candidate will contribute to project delivery excellence supporting utility customers in the energy generation, transmission, and distribution industries.

Your Impact
  • Develop and lead a team of dedicated project engineers to deliver projects of varying scales and complexities.
  • Design, plan, integrate, test, and commission hardware and software requirements on customer systems.
  • Develop and lead advanced power systems applications for real-time control systems, including sales presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Evaluate contract specifications and define project requirements through customer communication, then relay these to relevant departments.
  • Design systems and applications.
  • Perform hardware, software, and system installation, integration, testing, and commissioning.
  • Customize system, hardware, and network configurations based on customer needs.
  • Provide customer support and assistance as per maintenance and warranty agreements.
  • Assist in creating training materials and project documentation as needed.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in power systems, electric utility operations, or project engineering, with prior management experience of leading a team (preferably 1-2 years).
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Experience in power systems, electric utility operations/dispatch, real-time control systems, client/server applications, network communications, UNIX/Linux/Windows OS, and programming/scripting (Python, C/C++).
  • Experience with databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra) and data formats like JSON and XML.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and a strong commitment to customer service.
