The project:

This is an opportunity to work on one of the largest programmes in Saudi Arabia. This unique project consists of major mixed-use development including sports facilities, entertainment, arts, and all associated infrastructure.

Mace is one of the delivery partners requiring high-calibre and experienced professionals to lead integrated teams throughout each project phase.

The senior MEP manager is responsible for ensuring the project is managed safely, effectively, and efficiently as well as being completed on time and within budget in accordance with the objectives of the client.

Manage and oversee all phases of construction projects from planning and design to execution and completion, client interface, and leading the technical quality of all project-related construction matters. From an MEP/AV bias as well as being a subject matter expert for the project in relation to the development and coordination of the MEP/AV.

Full ownership/responsibility - procurement, design, delivery including close out and commercial.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Actively support and align work with the client's strategic objectives and imperatives, and passionately promote the client's mission and vision.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the LDC, architects, engineers, MC, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Actively interface and engage in the technical design process through the design stages - covering design works, technical services, surveys, studies, site investigations, reports, statutory approvals.
  • The MEP/AV Lead supports the client's team at a strategic project delivery level in creating project briefs and RFI documentation based on the client's needs and required result.
  • Collaborating with the design teams and lead design consultants (LDC) to maximise quality and value while minimising the risk profile for the project.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their expectations, ensuring that health and safety initiatives meet and exceed these expectations.
  • Develop, implement, and manage health and safety strategies to ensure a safe and healthy environment across the project.
  • Develop the projects departments strategy to establish and implement policies, standards, and guidelines for modern methods of construction (MMC).
  • Contribute to the establishment of the project execution plan, health and safety plan, QA/QC, and other documents as required.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with the supply chain management and procurement teams to negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors. Maintain overall responsibility for MEP/AV construction contractor/subcontractor adherence to their respective contracts.
  • In collaboration with the planning team, contribute to an overarching construction programme for the project, including interfaces, stakeholders, procurement, commercial, and design programmes.
  • Report and monitor construction project facade progress against the schedule and cost plan highlighting concerns providing recommendations and implementing any agreed mitigation.
  • Define all project plan documents, including the scope and financial plans, schedule, and risk management plans required on the project MEP/AV package.
  • Assist the construction lead in the development and distribution of presentations, and weekly and monthly reporting on all aspects of the project.
  • Direct and supervise a team of construction professionals providing guidance and support.
  • Capitalize on extensive knowledge and experience of global innovation in the latest construction methods and materials to meet the client's sustainability targets.
  • In collaboration with the project team, review supervision consultants' recommendations for extension of time or recovery plans to include contractor claims.
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and control the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project.
  • Ensure resources are appropriate to meet current and future commitments and to maximise opportunities.
  • Contribute to the resolution of technical issues on projects and provide technical guidance to other team members, such as technicians, junior engineers, and graduates.
  • Subject matter expert in MEP/AV elements of the project.
  • In collaboration with the commercial teams, ensure the submission of monthly invoices by the contractors, develop and update the project cash flow forecast, and prepare estimates for variations.

You’ll need to have:

  • A relevant degree qualification.
  • Chartership or pursuing a similar level of professional qualifications.
  • Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and relevant work experience working on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, which are required for immigration and client approval.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Extensive MEP construction experience.
  • Working experience in the MEA region.
  • Influential skills - experience in leading or senior roles on major construction projects.
