Job description

We are looking to expand our successful transport planning and mobility team in the Middle East in light of the rapidly increasing number of projects and opportunities, with the appointment of an Associate or Associate Director to join WSP’s transport planning and mobility team in Riyadh to support our public and private sector clients on their ambitious and innovative transport projects. Projects could involve sustainable urban development, transport policy and strategy development, transport network/master planning, multi-modal studies, mobility strategy implementation plans, zero emission mobility, using human-centred design to inform successful behaviour change interventions.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Leading mobility input on master planning and plot development schemes, including multi-modal network demand estimates, spatial planning, design guidelines, and operations.
  2. Managing a team to deliver transport strategies for private or public sector clients.
  3. Providing design advice for future mobility opportunities within retrofit environments or new masterplans (e.g., micro-mobility design, zero-emission, shared, and automated vehicles).
  4. Developing high-level reports and presentations for senior clients, supported by strong analytical and technical skills.
  5. Researching and benchmarking the latest mobility technologies and service providers worldwide.
  6. Collaborating with project teams across transportation, infrastructure, sustainability, digital advisory, and master planning to integrate mobility requirements.
  7. Supporting bid teams with technical mobility scopes and fee estimations, and exploring innovative ways of working.
  8. Possessing significant postgraduate experience as an Engineer or Transport Planner, with strong knowledge of mobility strategies and transport planning inputs.
  9. Contributing to and developing Transport Statements, Masterplans, Policies, Assessments, and Travel Plans.
  10. Having a passion for Design Thinking and Human-Centred Design.
  11. Having project management experience in a consultancy environment.
  12. Possessing business development, bid writing, and thought leadership skills (desirable).
  13. Adapting to evolving project demands with flexibility and resilience.
  14. Exhibiting team leadership and mentorship skills, including performance management and development of team members.
