Safety
- Provide & maintain a safe work environment. Demonstrate leadership with all company & industry safe work processes to prevent injuries.
- Adhere to company HSSE policy and procedures. Ensure all Environmental Regulatory requirements are met. Meet Air Products and APQ standards, along with global best practices for EH&S, productivity, reliability, quality, and customer service.
Technical:
- Provide direction & guidance based on technical feedback from Engineering and Maintenance for troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and testing activities.
- Support Operations and Maintenance. Maintain accurate documentation and monitor quality assurance initiatives.
- Guide Operations and Maintenance to ensure safety, reliability, and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems.
- Contribute to scheduled outages with Operations and Maintenance to meet contractual requirements.
- Manage plant production efficiently through data-driven decisions to ensure safety and reliability targets are met for maximum profitability.
- Collaborate with business areas to identify productivity expansion projects.
Skills
Operations and Maintenance
- Ensure safety of all personnel by utilizing the APQ Basic Safety Practice program, including Safety Work Permits, LOTO, Confined Space, etc. Facilitate planning, organizing, auditing, and follow-up to foster a safety culture.
- Perform assigned tasks safely and responsibly, following operating procedures and instructions from the Superintendent.
- Ensure maintenance notifications in SAP are accurate and verified on-site, including details like functional location, malfunction description, damage code, priority, and hazards.
- Participate in pre-work visits with Maintenance and Contractors to identify risks.
- Prepare and hand over work permit documents to the team.
- Assist in preparing maintenance or process shutdowns and turnarounds, defining scope, prioritizing notifications, and assessing malfunction impacts.
- Participate in daily maintenance meetings, sharing plans to ensure equipment readiness for scheduled work.
- Contribute to updating the weekly maintenance schedule based on notifications and analysis.
- Ensure equipment readiness for maintenance and return to operation post-maintenance.
- Manage routine testing and preventive maintenance of equipment.
- Prioritize maintenance activities to ensure reliability and operational continuity, agreeing on repair dates.
- Release work permits, ensuring all safety precautions are met, and promote safe permit practices through communication and site visits.
- Coordinate with support departments for maintenance activities.
- Conduct risk assessments and participate in unusual operational or maintenance activities.
- Support achievement of routine maintenance KPIs related to reliability, planning, and scheduling.
- Maintain updated procedures and schedules for special operations.
- Minimize forced tags & bypasses during operation through proper planning, following SIF procedures.
- Build technical capability by supporting coordination with Air Product’s Regional and Global teams.
- Provide coaching and motivation to operations team to achieve excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and train high-performing personnel, fostering teamwork, communication, and results orientation.
- Maintain close relationships with engineering and maintenance teams for continuous system monitoring and evaluation.
- Support incident investigations and root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions.
- Act as the Single Point of Contact for internal facility issues, representing APQ and coordinating resources.
- Promote operations excellence and customer satisfaction through productivity, reliability, quality, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
