A leading healthcare organization is seeking an Assistant Head Nurse to support the Head Nurse in managing nursing staff and ensuring patient care. The role involves overseeing daily operations, staff supervision, and maintaining compliance with health regulations. Candidates must have a BSN and at least 5 years of clinical experience. The Assistant Head Nurse supports the Head Nurse in managing nursing staff and overseeing daily operations within a healthcare unit or department. This role ensures high standards of patient care, assists in staff supervision, and helps maintain compliance with hospital protocols and health regulations.
Assist the Head Nurse in planning, organizing, and supervising nursing services.
Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff during shifts.
Monitor patient care standards and ensure safe, compassionate, and effective care.
Help coordinate staff schedules, shift coverage, and workload distribution.
Support in onboarding, training, and performance evaluation of nursing personnel.
Address patient concerns and communicate effectively with patients and families.
Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, safety policies, and hospital procedures.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in line with hospital regulations.
Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals for patient care.
Support inventory management of medical supplies and equipment.
Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN); valid nursing license/registration.
Minimum 35 years of clinical nursing experience.
Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role is preferred.
Strong knowledge of healthcare practices, protocols, and patient care standards.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Masters degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration is an advantage.
Specialized training or certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS, infection control).
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
