Job description

Summary

Assists in providing medical care in the field of General Radiation Oncology, and supervises interns and residents, in accordance with current medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and the Hospital’s policies and procedures.



Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Clinical Responsibilities:



Assists the Consultantsin providingrequired patient care and management in the field ofGeneral Radiation Oncology,in accordance with standards of medical carelaid downby the Healthcare Delivery.

Studies andperforms assessment, examination and the compilation of a case history and assistsin thediagnosis and management of the patient in accordance with criterialisted indiagnostic manuals such as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual.

Registers detailedmedical history, conducts a thorough physical examination and creates a planfor patientmanagement and follows-up for discussion with theConsultant. Subsequently, records the consultant’s orders, progress notes and otherrequired documentsfor outpatients.

Provides on-call coveragefrothierspecialty on a rotational basis during evenings, nights, weekendsand publicholidays.

Prepares for andparticipates inconsultant and specialist ward rounds as per policy. Documents findingsin medicalrecords.

Follows up oninvestigation resultsfor outpatients and modifies treatment accordingly.

Attends specialtyclinics, outpatientclinics, and shares on on-call schedule as per requirements.

Performs other clinicalresponsibilities, asassigned.

Academic Responsibilities:
Provides orientation,bedside trainingand supervision of interns, residents and fellows as assigned.

Keeps abreast of allthe latesttechniques and developments, especially in area ofspecialization. Implementsthem on a selective basis to improve technical standards.

Participates inthe educationalactivities and training programs of the department.

Participates in nationaland internationalmedical conferences.
Education

Graduation from a medical schoolin good standing, completion of required period of postgraduatetraining ina specialty and/or subspecialty, with Saudi/American Board or Canadian/UK certification, or equivalent as outlined by the Medical Staff Credentialing Committee.



Experience Required

Two (2) yearsof trainingin specialty and subspecialty plus post-training experience required.
