Job description


Summary
Assists in providing medical care in the field of Cardiac Surgery and supervises interns and residents, in accordance with current medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and the hospital's policies and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Clinical Responsibilities
  • Assists the Consultant in providing patient care and management in Cardiac Surgery, adhering to hospital standards.
  • Provides high-quality patient care within approved clinical privileges.
  • Provides consultations (inpatient and emergency room) promptly as per hospital policy.
  • Ensures timely, accurate, and legible completion of medical records.
  • Offers on-call services, ensuring availability and response within prescribed timeframes.
  • Conducts daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for discharge, ensuring discharge orders are written 24 hours prior.
  • Performs other clinical duties related to the specialty as assigned.
  1. Academic Responsibilities
  • Provides orientation, bedside training, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows.
  • Participates in educational activities and training programs, including national and international medical conferences.
  • Maintains professional knowledge and continuing education requirements.

Education

Graduation from a recognized medical school, completion of postgraduate training in a specialty/subspecialty, with Saudi, American, Canadian, or UK certification, or equivalent as approved by the Medical Staff Credentialing Committee.

Experience Required

Minimum of two (2) years of training in the relevant specialty/subspecialty plus post-training experience.
