Job description

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Assistant Chief Engineer to support the Chief Engineer in overseeing the operation, maintenance, and repair of all engineering systems, equipment, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will help lead the engineering team, ensure facility compliance with safety regulations, and contribute to the overall efficiency and reliability of building operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Chief Engineer in managing day-to-day engineering operations including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and fire safety systems.

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of engineering technicians, contractors, and maintenance staff.

  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of equipment and infrastructure.

  • Support the implementation of energy-saving initiatives and sustainability programs.

  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.

  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues and ensure quick resolution.

  • Maintain records of maintenance schedules, service reports, equipment logs, and inventory.

  • Assist in budget planning, cost control, and procurement of parts and supplies.

  • Train team members on safety procedures, technical skills, and standard operating protocols.

Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering (or related field).

  • 35 years of experience in facility or building engineering, with supervisory responsibilities.

  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety standards.

  • Proficient in MS Office and building management systems (BMS).

  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional certifications (e.g., LEED, OSHA, PMP, HVAC license).

  • Experience in hospitality, healthcare, commercial, or industrial facilities.

  • Familiarity with energy management systems and sustainability practices
