Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the asset management strategies, standards, and policies for all water and wastewater assets (plants and networks).
- Advise NWC to acquire new technologies which may be available to improve efficiency as part of the Asset Management Plan.
- Support in the preparation of asset condition surveys to ensure that assets are used and maintained in an effective and proper way.
- Provide support in any initiatives that can be run to create value from current assets.
- Provide a strategic overview of responsive, cyclical, and planned maintenance, and ensure delivery of a value for money, quality, and tenant focused service.
- Lead the development of short, medium, and long-term investment plans.
- Ensure that technical policies and standards reflecting best practices, value for money, and statutory obligations are specified and maintained.
- Champion the change process by leading and motivating staff to deliver programs and objectives and prepare them for transition to new structures.
- Champion the effective use of an asset management system utilizing comprehensive stock condition data across all assets, which can then be readily analyzed to inform strategy.
- Manage the CAPEX specialist who shall perform CAPEX investment analysis and business cases in coordination with the Finance Department.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in asset management within the utilities sector, preferably in water and wastewater.
- Strong experience in strategic planning, investment planning, and lifecycle management of infrastructure assets.
- Demonstrated experience with CAPEX/OPEX planning, cost-benefit analysis, and business case development.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strategic thinking and decision-making.
- Change management and innovation mindset.
