Internal Job Title: Assembly Team Leader - RTU

Job Purpose

Lead the RTU Assembly Team to achieve the Production Targets and ensure high levels of efficiency, productivity, quality, and on-time delivery.

Job Context

Ensure compliance with all HSE, Quality, Inventory, On-Time Delivery, and Productivity requirements by the Assembly Line Team.

Job Dimensions

This role involves regular interactions with all business functions, especially Fabrication and SCM. Interactions with Internal Sales are also common.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Meet daily RTU assembly targets as per the production plan.
  2. Allocate workload to team members daily based on capacity and plan.
  3. Be accountable for achieving daily assembly targets.
  4. Maintain efficiency above 85% across the RTU Assembly area.
  5. Ensure overall housekeeping and act as a 6S champion on the shop floor.
  6. Ensure tools and fixtures are maintained and report any issues.
  7. Uphold ISO quality standards and safety standards.
  8. Facilitate a safe working environment and ensure safety procedures are followed.
  9. Ensure all production staff are aware of HSE procedures and initiatives.
  10. Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings, BOM, and understand Teamcenter.
  11. Possess technical knowledge to interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams.
  12. Promote a positive attitude towards change and continuous improvement using lean methodologies.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
  1. Over 5 years of leadership experience in a production environment, preferably in electrical/mechanical assembly in manufacturing.
  2. Experience in assembly plants within reputable organizations; experience in Switchgear Industry/SMT RMUs is an advantage.
  3. Technical degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  4. Knowledge of ISO standards and health & safety regulations.
  5. Self-motivated with initiative and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
  6. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and Lean tools like Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Gemba.
  7. Strong analytical and planning skills to manage a team of over 200 blue-collar employees.
  8. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  9. Understanding of the impact of poor quality and safety in manufacturing.
