Job Overview

We are seeking an Artificial Intelligence Specialist (AIS) to join the Gas Operations Technical Support Division.

The division provides AI-powered solutions to all Gas Plants, leveraging AI to support data-driven decisions in safety, environment, energy, efficiency, and value creation.

The AI Specialist will work closely with the Gas Business Line and other entities to manage AI projects, from identifying challenges and opportunities to solution development, scoping, funding, proof of concept, deployment, and value tracking.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to oversee and monitor AI business cases from inception to evaluation and value realization.
  • Collaborate with internal and external entities, including third parties, to advance AI implementation in Gas.
  • Prioritize AI projects and ensure quality in all deliverables to secure funding.
  • Develop a roadmap for scaling AI solutions across the Business Line.
  • Facilitate and monitor AI development and deployment phases with stakeholders.
  • Develop Generative AI use cases for safety, environment, operations, and maintenance.
  • Apply statistical analysis to test hypotheses and validate results.
  • Build and train machine learning models, such as anomaly detection or predictive models.
  • Assess and mitigate cybersecurity risks, ensuring data practices comply with regulations and privacy standards.
  • Act as the AI focal point and coordinator within the Gas division.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, or related fields. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in data analytics products or machine learning models.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, with experience in data cleaning, statistical libraries, and visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Strong knowledge of regression, classification, clustering, big data, SQL, NLP, neural networks, and visualization techniques. Understanding of statistical, predictive, and optimization algorithms is essential.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to derive insights from data.
  • Basic project management skills for planning and executing data science projects.
  • Experience leading AI deployment projects, preferably in Oil & Gas.
  • Knowledge of plant automation systems, OPC interfaces, and process historians like PI is desirable.
