Area Manager, Operations

Guide, manage, and administer daily refinery operations responsibilities to ensure operational activities are performed in compliance with priorities such as profit, safety, health, reliability, security, and environmental requirements. Ensure effective, efficient, and safe day-to-day work, and facilitate smooth information flow among various organizations and stakeholders.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop annual operational plans aligned with departmental objectives. Supervise personnel and resources to achieve these plans. Contribute to enhancing business processes, procedures, policies, systems, and controls to ensure compliance and successful execution.
2. Identify staffing and resource needs, focusing on Saudization targets, to meet business demands and maintain high staff retention. Ensure staff development through appropriate training programs.
3. Establish and monitor KPIs related to performance objectives. Promote a strong HSE culture and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and standards. Provide necessary HSE training to all employees.
4. Promote and oversee the implementation and continuous improvement of YASREF HSE programs and SMS, monitoring development and execution of HSE processes.
5. Ensure daily operations are performed effectively, efficiently, and safely to maximize refinery profit, plant reliability, and environmental compliance. Schedule production and allocate work accordingly.
6. Maintain maximum production capacity and coordinate with all YASREF units to implement corrective actions to meet production targets.
7. Participate in strategic planning and business planning. Ensure process parameters meet product quantity and quality specifications to avoid delays and maintain standards.
8. Ensure process parameters of units comply with received product specifications. Proactively investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
9. Coordinate marine ship movements to ensure timely delivery of products, maintaining quality and quantity standards.
10. Ensure availability of chemicals like additives and catalysts for smooth operations and quality assurance. Evaluate and validate technical process modifications.
11. Maintain effective communication among all YASREF operation units to prevent miscommunication and ensure smooth processes and production.
12. Participate in daily operational meetings, address issues promptly, and validate proposed process changes and technical modifications.
13. Manage and monitor departmental projects to meet performance targets.
14. Ensure health monitoring systems are effective and compliant with industry standards to protect employee health.
15. Support the OME team to uphold safety standards, coordinate maintenance activities, and ensure safety and environmental compliance.
16. Participate in daily and weekly refinery operation review meetings, ensuring issues are addressed timely without impacting safety or production, in compliance with YNGL standards.
17. Enforce environmental procedures, manage waste reduction and disposal programs, and ensure fire system robustness and emergency readiness.
18. Minimize risks through proactive planning, strategy selection, and project management. Develop and evaluate subordinates for potential growth.
19. Operate units in accordance with HSSE standards. Lead emergency responses per ERP, ensuring control and safety to prevent property, health, or life losses.
20. Conduct weekly engagement meetings with the team to foster a healthy work environment and maximize employee engagement.
21. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
