Your Role

As a Gensler Junior Architect, you will collaborate with architects and designers to develop design solutions and coordinate the design through the construction administration phase of projects. You will translate sketches and documents into 3D models and working drawings, and research technical issues as they arise. You should demonstrate innovative thinking balanced with real-world technical solutions, thrive with personal responsibility, and embody open communication and teamwork. What You Will Do
  1. Develop the design and delivery of architectural and technical aspects of projects.
  2. Possess knowledge of architectural design principles, technical details, codes, and material characteristics.
  3. Participate in all project phases, focusing on design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
  4. Collaborate with the design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and vendors to meet project objectives.
  5. Produce BIM models and construction drawings.
  6. Resolve technical and design challenges with the team to produce innovative, feasible solutions.
  7. Support sustainability targets throughout project phases and actively contribute to achieving them.
  8. Study sustainable design strategies at every stage and investigate solutions to sustainability challenges.
  9. Work collaboratively to optimize sustainability performance through design iterations and research.
  10. Engage in climate-focused analysis and studies for each project.
Qualifications
  • 0-3 years of project experience in an architectural practice.
  • Bachelor of Architecture, Interior Design, or equivalent.
  • Licensed or registered architect.
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards, construction, and structures.
  • Effective communicator, collaborative, and team-oriented.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations tactfully and with emotional intelligence.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • LEED, WELL, Fitwel, LFA, or other rating system accreditation is preferable.
  • Demonstrated collaborative approach towards sustainability goals.
  • Motivated to expand knowledge and experience in sustainability.
  • Proficiency in REVIT, Enscape, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Office.
  • Additional skills in Illustrator, Rhino, Grasshopper are a plus.
Design Technology Qualifications
Essential
  • Basic understanding of Autodesk Revit for modeling and documentation.
  • Basic familiarity with Rhinoceros for design authoring.
Desirable
  • Understanding of real-time rendering and material management within BIM and parametric workflows.
  • Familiarity with interoperability workflows between design tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, etc.
