Job Title: Arabic R&A Editor
Job Summary:
The Arabic R&A (Reports & Analysis) Editor is responsible for ensuring that documentation is logical, concise, culturally appropriate, and understandable for the target audience. This includes adherence to established standards of style, language, and organizational guidelines. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, with strong experience in editing, writing, customer service, and training. A background in the oil industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of all document submissions.
- Edit content for sensitive information, language accuracy (American or British English), consistency with messaging guidelines, target audience suitability, style compliance, and cultural sensitivity.
- Stay updated on relevant editing procedures, workflows, and guidelines.
- Clearly explain editing decisions and apply best practices from AP Style Guide and grammar principles.
- Manage a high volume of documents under tight deadlines.
- Work with various content formats, including multimedia files (e.g., Publisher, Adobe, PowerPoint).
- Maintain an understanding of organizational operations and content-related processes.
- Mentor junior editors and team members.
- Conduct presentations and workshops on Arabic business writing, when required.
- Perform additional duties based on operational needs.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Language: Native Arabic speaker; fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English at a professional level
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Arts, Education, or Science
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years in writing/editing
- Strong command of Modern Standard Arabic
- Familiar with diverse writing styles (academic, scientific, business, web, etc.)
- Proven ability to handle high-pressure work environments with short deadlines
- Substantial experience in customer service
- Demonstrated teaching/training capabilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with multimedia editing tools
- Experience in Arabic/English translation is preferred
- Experience in teaching Arabic as a second language is a plus
- Background in the oil industry is beneficial but not required
