Job Description

The role is responsible for day-to-day application service management and operations to ensure service availability, optimal performance, and security of systems including operating systems, and other related services. Application Operations Engineer will participate in system capacity evaluation and planning.

Responsibilities

1. Investigate and coordinate the resolution of potential and actual application/service problems.
2. Ensure that operational documentation for the system is fit for purpose and current.
3. Advise on the correct and effective use of the system.
4. Review application/system software updates and identify those that merit action.
5. Use application/system management software and tools to collect logs and analyze them.
6. Carry out agreed application operational procedures, including configuration, installation, and maintenance.
7. Use application management tools to collect and report performance statistics and error logs.
8. Automate application tasks, processes, and deployments efficiently.
9. Monitor service components of the applications.
10. Respond to routine support requests and investigate issues according to established procedures.
11. Assist users and resolve application issues.
12. Investigate and resolve integration issues with applications.
13. Provide knowledge transfer and training to other engineers.
14. Ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks and policies.

Qualifications

• Teritary qualification in computer science or related field from an recognized institution.
