Job summary

Alsalam Aerospace Industries in Riyadh seeks an experienced Aircraft A&P technician to lead airframe and powerplant maintenance, repairs, and servicing. You will inspect, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues across rotor heads, landing gear, engines, hydraulics, and avionics, while supporting weight and balance tasks and ensuring compliance with technical orders.

You will also supervise maintenance personnel, plan work, and maintain records, with English proficiency and a Train-the-Trainer

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in Aircraft Airframe & Powerplant Maintenance.
• At least 5 years of proven airframe/powerplant maintenance experience, including helicopter platforms.
• Must hold a recognized Aircraft A&P license (FAA/EASA/CAA or equivalent).
• Completed an approved aircraft type-rating course from a recognized aviation organization.
• OJT logbook or training records showing helicopter platform experience preferred.
• Train-the-Trainer certificate required.
• English proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.5+; may be tested during interview.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform aircraft airframe and powerplant repair, maintenance, servicing, and related support equipment activities.
• Determine maintenance requirements, inspect parts, tolerances, leaks, corrosion, wear, and system performance.
• Utilize wiring diagrams, manuals, and orders to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues.
• Assist with weight and balance activities per procedures and directives.
• Position aircraft and assist with jacking, towing, and access for servicing.
• Ensure timely sampling of engine oil and fuel for SOAP analysis.
• Troubleshoot maintenance problems and test aircraft systems.
• Apply policies, directives, and technical orders to maintenance work.
• Maintain and calibrate test equipment and perform detailed testing of repairs.
• Supervise maintenance personnel and plan work assignments.
• Ensure compliance with maintenance management directives and standards.
• Maintain maintenance records and training documentation.
• Provide on-the-job training as part of Train-the-Trainer programs.

• Work under the management of the organization and report to the Site Superintendent.
• Perform aircraft airframe and powerplant repair, maintenance, servicing, and related support equipment activities.
• Determine airframe and powerplant maintenance requirements, including inspection of parts, tolerances, fuel leaks, corrosion, tire wear, skin damage, cracks, and aircraft system performance. Utilize wiring diagrams, blueprints, technical publications, and applicable technical orders to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues involving rotor heads, landing gear, engines, instrumentation, rotor blades, transmissions, flight controls and rigging, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, heating, fuel, lubrication, cooling, induction, and exhaust systems.
• Assist with aircraft weight and balance activities in accordance with approved procedures and directives.
• Position aircraft through jacking and towing operations to facilitate airframe and powerplant maintenance activities.
• Ensure timely sampling of aircraft engine oil and fuel in accordance with the applicable Spectrometric Oil Analysis Program (SOAP).
• Troubleshoot airframe and powerplant maintenance problems and analyze equipment operating characteristics to identify sources of malfunction. Utilize layout drawings, schematics, and technical documentation to determine appropriate repair procedures and perform operational checks, testing, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems.
• Interpret and apply airframe and powerplant maintenance and installation policies, procedures, technical publications, and applicable directives.
• Maintain and calibrate airframe and powerplant system test equipment and conduct detailed testing of repaired equipment using appropriate test equipment and facilities.
• Determine requirements for airframe and powerplant maintenance equipment, tools, spare parts, and other necessary resources.
• Supervise airframe and powerplant maintenance personnel and plan, coordinate, and schedule work assignments.
• Ensure maintenance personnel are familiar with and comply with applicable maintenance management directives, procedures, and standards.
• Maintain and control airframe and powerplant technical orders, maintenance records, training documentation, and applicable forms.
• Evaluate the performance of maintenance specialists to ensure compliance with applicable policies, preventive maintenance directives, technical orders, and established standards.
• Conduct on-the-job training as part of the Train-the-Trainer program. Provide practical training to personnel through scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance activities to support their qualification on aircraft systems and maintenance procedures. The maximum trainer-to-trainee ratio shall be 1:3.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Minimum Diploma in Aircraft Airframe and Powerplant Maintenance, a recognized aircraft maintenance training program of at least two years, or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in aircraft airframe and powerplant maintenance within military or civilian aviation, including a minimum of 3 years of proven experience as an aircraft A&P technician on the relevant helicopter platform.
• Must hold a recognized Aircraft A&P Mechanic License, such as FAA A&P, EASA B1, CAA A&P, or equivalent, particularly for candidates with 3–5 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• Must have successfully completed an approved aircraft type-rating course or specialized aircraft maintenance course from a recognized aviation organization.
• OJT logbook or documented training records demonstrating experience on the relevant helicopter platform are preferred.
• Must hold a recognized Train-the-Trainer course certificate.
• English language proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing equivalent to a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 for non-native English speakers. Alternatively, English proficiency may be assessed during the interview.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and other relevant office automation tools.
