Job description

Job Title: Aircraft Maintenance Technician

Salary: Competitive

JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment, and weapons.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and modifications for Tornado aircraft both on and off the aircraft.
  2. Provide support to RSAF away from Tornado Support Service (TSS) if required.
  3. Perform major and minor mechanical maintenance, repairs, modifications, and TCTO’s for Tornado aircraft.
  4. Ensure the quality and completeness of the work carried out or signed off on an aircraft or aircraft component, in accordance with the approved data.
  5. Work within the requirements of the TSS Quality Management System, Safety Management System, and RSAF Technical Orders.
  6. Complete maintenance paperwork, aircraft forms, records, and documentation in both hard and electronic formats.
  7. Maximize effort to meet TSS programme timescales safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
  8. Identify areas of inexperience or training needs for oneself and others and communicate these to the supervisor.
  9. Provide on-the-job and theoretical training for trainees.
  10. Deputise for the aircraft supervisor if required.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
  1. Extensive experience in an operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal training or experience on Tornado aircraft, or successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship (SNTTP/TSNTTP).
  2. Current authorisations for aircraft maintenance.
  3. Completion of Tornado Aircraft maintenance course.
  4. Working knowledge of Q-pulse, GOLD, and understanding of M&CA processes.
  5. Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  6. Hold a current driving license.
  7. Understanding of RSAF 4-1-7166 series and relevant technical publications.
  8. Understanding of RSAF operations and working practices.
