Job Purpose

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that provide equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia. We maintain Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel in a safe training environment to operate their aircraft, equipment, and weapons.

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia supports the Saudi Arabian National Agenda, including Saudisation and developing Saudi National capabilities through local partner companies, reinforcing industrialization and partnerships.

The role involves managing aircraft maintenance programs, overseeing requirements such as HPO1, HPO2 PE1 servicing, unscheduled maintenance, modifications, TCTOs, SIs, and system testing. It includes supervising a team of supervisors and technicians, providing support outside normal trade boundaries, and acting as the point of contact for all issues within their work phases.

Job Accountabilities
  1. Ensure aircraft maintenance schedules are adhered to, including monitoring planned maintenance, access, spares, and team performance.
  2. Request additional resources to improve productivity.
  3. Certify completed tasks, including Red-X clearance, and monitor daily progress against schedules.
  4. Report issues impacting schedules and provide technical queries and estimates for additional work.
  5. Manage personnel performance, ensure training and certification are up-to-date, and address disciplinary issues.
  6. Maintain quality standards, conduct investigations, and ensure effective housekeeping.
  7. Prepare for audits, follow maintenance documentation procedures, and ensure personnel are authorized for tasks.
  8. Provide on-the-job training, assess competencies, and certify personnel as needed.
  9. Manage demands for replacement parts, monitor their impact, and ensure test equipment availability.
  10. Deputize for the Aircraft Maintenance Lead when necessary, and foster positive relations with internal and external customers.
  11. Maintain accurate information flow and provide technical reports for maintenance activities and incident investigations.
  12. Supervise aircraft towing operations as required.
Recruitment Specification

Essential

  • Recognized qualification (NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC or equivalent).
  • Proven maintenance experience in an operational flying aircraft environment or on the same aircraft type.
  • Management experience in a relevant role.
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance, engineering, and relevant systems (Q-pulse, GOLD, IMS).
  • Understanding of human factors, error management, health & safety, and hazard analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for coordination and decision-making.

Desirable

  • Supervisory management course.
  • Experience with fast jet aircraft and RSAF documentation.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical publications.
  • Understanding of RSAF operational practices.
  • Current driving license and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
