Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Structures / Sheet Metal Technician to perform maintenance, repair, and modifications on helicopter sheet metal structures. The role ensures compliance with aeronautical regulations, OEM standards, and Airbus repair processes, with a strong focus on safety, precision, and structural integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and troubleshoot primary and secondary aircraft structures.
- Disassemble assemblies to access faults and carry out necessary repairs.
- Repair, realign, manufacture, or replace defective structural components.
- Perform approved structural modifications and apply corrosion protection treatments.
- Assemble parts using approved fastening techniques (riveting, bonding, screwing, adhesives).
- Assess and document structural damage in accordance with OEM and regulatory limits.
- Apply corrosion treatment methods (mechanical and chemical).
- Ensure compliance with MRM, SRM, ATA chapters, and Airbus repair procedures.
- Maintain accurate records in CMMS and ensure closure of anomalies.
- Support audits, inspections, and coordination with OEMs for complex or D-Level repairs.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of ATA Chapter 53 (Structures) for repair solutions.
- Familiarity with the Structural Repair Manual (SRM) and Maintenance & Repair Manual (MRM).
- Understanding of the Repair Design Approval Sheet (RDAS) process and when OEM approval is required.
- Awareness that D-Level repairs are restricted to Airbus, requiring OEM intervention.
- Knowledge of structural limitations, e.g., Super Puma frame corrosion beyond limits requires Airbus RDAS and OEM technician support.
- Expertise in helicopter sheet metal structure repair and modification techniques.
- Skilled in the use of specialized tooling (jigs, fixtures, forming tools).
- Proficiency with aeronautical fastening and assembly methods (riveting, bonding, screwing, adhesives).
- Strong knowledge of aeronautical materials (aluminum alloys, titanium, steels).
- Competence in corrosion prevention and treatment methods.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and maintenance manuals.
- Familiarity with EASA and FAA standards and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with CMMS systems .
Certifications / Licenses
- Valid EASA Part-66 B1.3 or B2 License (preferred).
- Type training on Airbus Helicopters (e.g., Super Puma / H225) or Leonardo AW series is an advantage.
- Experience under a Part-145 Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) environment.
- OEM structural repair training or Airbus SRM / MRM familiarization course desirable.
- Valid Human Factors, Fuel Tank Safety, and EWIS training certificates.
