We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-driven Accounting Manager to join our Finance team and play a key role in safeguarding the financial integrity of our operations.
Position Summary
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, managing balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring strict adherence to internal controls and regulatory compliance. This role directly supports the Director of Finance and contributes to the hotel’s profitability through robust financial stewardship, accurate forecasting, and timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements, accruals, journal entries, and cash flow reports
- Maintain reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts in accordance with GAAP and corporate standards
- Assist in budget and forecast preparation as required by corporate or management
- Oversee and safeguard hotel financial assets, inventory, negotiable instruments, and statutory books
- Ensure timely month-end close processes, including preparation of reconciliation packs and variance analysis
- Supervise payroll processing to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Ensure compliance with accounting SOPs and assist with internal audits across all departments
- Review daily cash position and optimize fund utilization
- Monitor unmatched credit card credits and ensure all adjustments are reviewed and authorized by the Director of Finance
- Manage capital expenditure tracking and compliance with internal controls
- Monitor expenses, review daily audit reports, and investigate discrepancies impacting financial accuracy or guest experience
- Ensure accurate reporting of fixed asset sales or disposals on financial statements
- Maintain robust control systems to safeguard income, expenses, and hotel assets
- Provide timely, data-driven reports and analytics to support departmental decision-making
- Present financial metrics and support the achievement of departmental KPIs
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with accounting principles and standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, including 2+ years in a leadership position in hospitality or related industry
- Strong knowledge of accounting software, financial regulations, and internal control standards
- Proven experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll, and audits
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or similar)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage
- High integrity and strong sense of responsibility in handling sensitive financial data
