Job description

Job Title: Accounting Assistant Manager

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Department: Finance & Accounting

Reports To: Sr. Finance Manager

Job Purpose:

The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with Saudi Arabian financial regulations (e.g., ZATCA requirements), preparing accurate financial reports, and supporting strategic financial planning. The role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity of financial data and supporting management decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management & Reporting

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely closing of books.
  • Supervise general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliation processes.
  • Provide financial analysis and reports for management.

2. Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Zakat, Tax, and VAT laws as per ZATCA (Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority) requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions and tax filings.

3. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets.
  • Conduct variance analysis and financial forecasting.

4. Internal Controls & Risk Management

  • Implement, and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Ensure appropriate financial risk management strategies are in place.

5. ERP & System Oversight

  • Manage accounting systems (SAP S4Hana experience is a must).
  • Ensure system data integrity and process efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (SOCPA certification preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 5–7 years in accounting, with strong SAP S4Hana knowledge.
  • Language: Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of VAT laws, and financial reporting. Proficiency in MS Excel and SAP S4HANA systems.
  • Other: Knowledge of Saudi Arabian financial regulations and ZATCA compliance is essential.
