The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of our company in Mecca. They will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, preparation of financial statements, and compliance with local laws and regulations. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the Middle East region. They should also have strong knowledge of accounting principles and be proficient in using accounting software.
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow projections
Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
Conduct monthly/quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of data
Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information for financial reporting
Provide guidance and training to junior accounting staff
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field
Strong knowledge of GAAP and local tax laws/regulations
Proficient in using accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
Experience working in the Middle East region is preferred
