Job description

We are looking for an Account Director to lead strategic client relationships in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, deliver high-impact communications and advisory support aligned with national priorities and Vision 2030. As an Account Director, you will drive business growth through local market expertise, manage high-performing teams, and ensure excellence in project delivery and client service. As a trusted advisor and visible leader, the Account Director will uphold APCO's values, foster collaboration, and contribute to the firm’s growth and influence in the Saudi market.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Manage client relationships independently to position APCO as a trusted advisor within the Saudi market, aligned with Vision 2030 objectives.
  2. Develop key messages for clients effectively.
  3. Manage crisis communication strategies.
  4. Organize teams around business development opportunities and manage proposal processes, ensuring quality, standards, and accurate scope of work.
  5. Build a positive reputation and gain visibility within the APCO network, establishing yourself as a thought leader in the market.
  6. Establish a strong network across APCO and engage in knowledge sharing and business opportunities.
  7. Lead internal and external client meetings confidently, offering insights and suggestions to establish credibility and motivate others.
  8. Serve as the principal client contact; leverage senior relationships within APCO to strengthen client relationships.
  9. Actively network to identify new business prospects.
  10. Demonstrate APCO’s values in all interactions.
  11. Identify external meetings and training to enhance sector knowledge and contacts.
  12. Understand effective project management, address issues proactively, and tie account management to APCO's business success.
  13. Participate in annual business planning and forecasting opportunities with clients.
  14. Take ownership of team development, setting SMART objectives to enhance skills.
  15. Meet or exceed utilization and AIP targets.
  16. Grow clients organically and pursue new opportunities actively.
  17. Share opportunities across the network to optimize resource allocation.
  18. Build trust-based relationships with clients.
  19. Provide constructive advice and counsel to clients.
  20. Ensure clear agreement on expectations and timelines with clients.
  21. Seek client input to understand needs and develop tailored solutions.
  22. Communicate priorities and deliverables effectively to teams.
  23. Adjust to scope changes and communicate effectively with project teams.
  24. Caution clients about potential risks.
  25. Handle dissatisfied clients professionally and calmly.
  26. Anticipate client needs and propose informed recommendations.
  27. Strive to exceed client expectations and promote this mindset within the team.

Requirements
