Overview:

As an Academy Physiotherapist at Al-Qadsiah Club, you will provide medical and rehabilitative care to academy players in the Foundation Phase (FP), ensuring they are in optimal physical condition for training and competition. You will work closely with the medical and coaching staff to assess, treat, and prevent injuries, while supporting players through each phase of their recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

Injury Prevention

  • Conduct regular assessments to identify potential injury risks
  • Implement tailored injury prevention programs
  • Provide advice on fitness, recovery, and injury mitigation strategies

Injury Assessments and Treatments

  • Deliver immediate first aid during training sessions and matches
  • Diagnose and treat sports-related injuries such as strains, sprains, and fractures
  • Design and lead rehabilitation programs customized to individual needs
  • Support players throughout the entire recovery journey

Rehabilitation

  • Monitor rehabilitation progress and recovery milestones
  • Collaborate with coaches to integrate rehabilitation into regular training
  • Guide players through return-to-play protocols
  • Work closely with the Return to Play Coach to support physical conditioning during recovery

Record Keeping and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each player
  • Generate injury and progress reports for coaches and management
  • Ensure consistent documentation within the treatment database

Other

  • Maintain up-to-date CPD and professional development as per performance department standards
  • Carry out additional duties as directed by the line manager or Academy Technical Director

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a sport-related field (e.g., Physiotherapy), or equivalent experience
  • FIFA Guardian safeguarding qualification

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

Essential:

  • Experience in a football academy setting
  • Skilled in manual therapy techniques (e.g., taping, massage)
  • Capable of delivering warm-ups and activation exercises
  • Proficient in developing and overseeing rehabilitation plans
  • Competent in maintaining detailed medical documentation
  • Comfortable working in diverse cultural environments
  • Fluent in English; Arabic and Spanish are an advantage

Desirable:

  • Prior experience working in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East
