Job description

Job Purpose







The role supports the strategic development and delivery of Artificial Intelligence education within the KAUST Academy’s continual learning ecosystem.



The position leads the design, coordination, and academic oversight of AI-related programs targeting professionals, executives, and students across diverse learning stages. Working closely with faculty, institutional partners, and external stakeholders, the role ensures high-quality curriculum design, alignment with emerging technologies, and impactful program outcomes that contribute to national talent development and lifelong learning objectives.










Major Accountabilities








  • Design and develop AI-related curricula for professional, executive, and student programs.

  • Ensure alignment of program content with industry needs, emerging technologies, and national priorities.

  • Oversee academic delivery and ensure quality and consistency across AI learning programs.

  • Coordinate with faculty, instructors, and subject matter experts for effective program execution.

  • Engage with internal departments, government entities, and industry partners to support and grow the AI education portfolio.

  • Monitor and support learner engagement, performance, and progression across all program stages.

  • Lead the selection, onboarding, and mentorship of students in advanced training or specialization tracks.

  • Develop and manage learner assessment tools and program evaluation frameworks.

  • Analyze program data to inform continuous improvement and strategic planning.

  • Contribute to innovation in lifelong learning through new delivery models (e.g., hybrid, modular, micro-credentials).

  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for internal leadership and external stakeholders.

  • Ensure programs are compliant with institutional academic policies and accreditation standards.






Person Requirements








Competencies








  • Strong knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and related fields.

  • Experience in curriculum design for professional and adult learning.

  • Familiarity with trends and advancements in AI and its real-world applications.

  • Program and project management skills, including scheduling and resource coordination.

  • Ability to design, implement, and evaluate educational or training programs.

  • Understanding of lifelong learning frameworks and executive education models.

  • Ability to develop scalable, modular, and flexible learning pathways (e.g., micro-credentials).

  • Effective collaboration with faculty, learners, and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to present complex AI topics to non-technical audiences when necessary.

  • Experience working with government, academic, and industry partners.

  • Competence in educational data analysis and use of performance indicators.






Qualifications








  • PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.






Experience








  • Experience in designing, managing, and evaluating training or academic programs, particularly in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related technologies.

  • Hands-on experience in curriculum development for professional, executive, or lifelong learning contexts.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty, researchers, and external partners (e.g., government, industry).

  • Familiarity with the operational aspects of academic program delivery, including scheduling, assessments, resource planning, and learner support.

  • Proven track record of engaging with high-level stakeholders and representing academic programs in institutional or strategic forums.
