You will join a team of highly motivated and collaborative professionals working in the Funding and Disclosure Reform (FAD) Program. The FAD Program was recently established to enable the AEC to implement and administer legislative amendments to the Commonwealth Funding and Disclosure Scheme (the Scheme) as set out in Part XX of the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 (Electoral Act) to increase transparency and accountability in Australia’s electoral system.
The FAD Program comprises three branches – the Program Management Office Branch, the Regulatory Enablement Branch, and the Technology Delivery Branch – working together to enhance the AEC’s regulatory capability and capacity; and to design, build, and implement a new agile ICT system to support the Scheme.
The FAD Program is committed to establishing and maintaining a high-performing, positive workplace culture that values respectful leadership. You will operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, working with the Program Executive and the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) to ensure that strategic objectives are met.
The Opportunities
We are looking to fill multiple current and future vacancies with experienced and collaborative professionals seeking rewarding growth and leadership opportunities across various streams.
You will work with limited direction to support the delivery of the FAD Program while providing strategic leadership to ensure Program outcomes are achieved. You will engage, communicate, and negotiate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership, to influence decision-making, align priorities, and drive successful Program outcomes. You will be empowered to foster a high-performance culture, drive innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration across teams, while providing leadership and guidance to your staff.
The technology delivery stream is responsible for building, refining, and deploying the ICT solution in partnership with external vendors. This includes functional and non-functional testing, user acceptance testing, and deployment activities. This stream offers technical expertise across disciplines such as architecture, security, Azure cloud, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, enterprise integration, and infrastructure, acting as an IT enabler for the Program to ensure the ICT solution is efficiently designed, secure, integrated, and deployed.
Program Management
This stream oversees Program delivery, ensuring all components work effectively to meet outcomes and realize benefits aligned with Government expectations. It includes building capacity through recruitment, procurement, vendor management, and delivering governance, assurance, financial management, and reporting activities.
Regulatory Enablement
This stream is responsible for delivering high-quality regulatory framework design and implementation to support the AEC’s transition to a large-scale regulator. It provides service design, business analysis, change management, and product management services supporting both regulatory and ICT capability uplift. A federal election is one of the nation’s largest, most complex, and most scrutinized peacetime logistical events, involving tens of millions of moving parts, held approximately every three years. It requires detailed planning and contributes positively to Australian democracy.
Between elections, there may be by-elections, referendums, industrial elections, ballots, maintenance of the electoral roll, drawing electoral boundaries, administering the financial disclosure scheme, and more.
