Head of Technology (m/f/d)

Related to our hybrid work concept, we offer the possibility to work in our offices in Innsbruck (AUT) or Schaanwald (FL), combined with remote work.

This role requires a mixture of team leadership, hands-on software engineering, and software architecture skills. You will lead a group of engineers developing full-stack solutions across multiple technologies, including backend, web, and mobile apps, in an international, distributed setup spanning multiple time zones. Your responsibilities include coordinating work, ensuring timely delivery of features, guiding the team technically to adopt best practices, and writing efficient, scalable software.

Your tasks

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary and international teams to develop requirements and implement innovative solutions.
• Oversee governance functions for the development team(s).
• Ensure code quality through code reviews and test automation.
• Optimize existing systems and applications for performance and scalability.
• Support the technical development and maintenance of several products, including client and server applications using C# (WinForms, WCF), SpringBoot (J2EE), and ColdFusion with ColdBox framework.
• Design, implement, and manage relational (MySQL/Aurora RDS) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) databases.
• Utilize AWS cloud services for application deployment and management (e.g., ECS, ECR, S3, CodePipeline, CodeBuild).

Your profile

• Completed studies in computer science, software engineering, or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of professional experience in software development, with in-depth knowledge in one of the core backend stacks: C# or Java. Polyglot experience is preferred.
• Experience leading developers and mentoring them in best practices.
• Curious learner with the ability to navigate and learn multiple stacks and technologies, advocating for quality and standard engineering practices across them.
• Experience designing cloud-based software, including considerations for performance, security, and networking.
• Project management and Scrum skills are a plus.
• Knowledge of major cloud services (preferably AWS) for running containerized services.
• Good analytical and solution-oriented thinking.
• Reflective personality with team spirit and strong communication skills.
• Proactive, structured, and results-oriented working style.
• Proficiency in German and English, both written and spoken.
