Assistant Project Manager - Property & Construction

The role

We are seeking an ambitious Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join our Sydney team. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects and advance your career. Based in Sydney CBD, you will collaborate directly with our experienced Project Director on education and commercial projects, assisting with daily project requirements in line with our scope and Integrated Management Systems. You will be a reliable team member supporting the project under the leadership of the Project Director.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting the design process to meet client requirements and manage expectations.
  2. Assisting with tenders to select external contractors and consultants.
  3. Reviewing project plans, specifications, schedules, cost-saving measures, discrepancies, and potential construction issues.
  4. Managing project timelines, risks, and reporting.
  5. Attending meetings with clients and consultants, ensuring minutes are recorded accurately.
  6. Handling project administration in compliance with ISO 9001-2016 standards.

Qualifications and experience:

  • 2-3+ years of project management experience, preferably in a client-side consulting role.
  • A degree in Construction Management, Building Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Understanding of client-side project management roles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, diligent, and eager to learn from senior team members.
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
