About the Role

TP Human Capital is partnering with Regional Development Australia (RDA) Townsville and North West Queensland to recruit an experienced and visionary Chief Executive Officer. This is a rare opportunity to lead a respected regional organisation dedicated to driving economic growth, strengthening regional capability, and delivering positive outcomes for communities across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Build and maintain strong relationships across business, government, and community sectors to drive regional development outcomes.
2. Act as a connector between government, industry, and community stakeholders.
3. Lead initiatives that enhance local capability, attract investment, and support economic diversification.
4. Provide evidence-based advice to government on funding, policy, infrastructure, and workforce priorities.
5. Represent and advocate for regional interests at local, state, and national levels.
6. Oversee operational, financial, and governance responsibilities, ensuring alignment with RDA’s strategic vision.

About You:

1. Proven executive or senior leadership experience, ideally in regional development, government, economic policy, or related fields.
2. Exceptional stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills.
3. Ability to influence policy, lead strategy, and manage high-impact programs.
4. Strong commercial and regional insight with a passion for community-driven economic growth.

Role Details:

1. Full-time permanent position based in Townsville.
2. Standard office hours with flexibility required for events, travel, and stakeholder engagement.
