We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a suitably experienced People & Culture Manager to join our Mineral Technologies business located in Brisbane, Queensland.
Mineral Technologies, a subsidiary of Downer, is renowned as the world's most relied upon fine mineral processing solutions provider. For more than 80 years we have partnered with customers in mining operations to deliver innovative, cost-effective mineral processing solutions for a range of fine minerals including mineral sands and beneficiated iron ore.
Our business comprises three parts:
- Metallurgical testing and flowsheet design
- Process Equipment development, manufacture and supply
- Engineering & Projects with an emphasis on feasibility studies and modular plant supply.
Our global teams help customers maximize the value of their orebodies using Mineral Technologies metallurgical expertise, proprietary process equipment, and modular plant solutions.
About the Role
Mineral Technologies has a strategy to protect the current product and services offering as well as grow into adjacent markets with existing and new products. MT is also on a drive to de-centralize decision making in a controlled way to enable the regions to better take advantage of market opportunities. This requires an uplift in leadership capability in the international regions. The P&C strategy for MT is as follows:
- Performance focused leadership with clear targets aligned to this plan. Leadership fundamentals to drive a customer service and performance culture uplift.
- Clear operating models and accountabilities with special reference to product manager & regional sales team matrix, process engineering group, and Eng & Projects winning work and delivering projects accountability clarity.
- Talent Mapping, Career Pathways, and Succession Planning for our people to be supported in career progression.
- Workforce Planning, Recruitment and Selection that works, ensuring the right skills are available at the right time and that employees believe in a fair and equal opportunity process.
- Elevate Employee Engagement through actionable and measurable outcomes that address business pain points.
- MT University (MTU) in place and functioning for both internal employees and external customers on a fee basis.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in business, human resources, or a related discipline preferred.
- Significant experience as a P&C/HR leader in Engineering / Projects EPC/EPCM service provider organizations or process equipment supply organization in the minerals sector.
- Ability to grow Leadership Behavior and Influence key stakeholders.
- Ability to manage in complex environments addressing situations quickly and directly.
- Ability to perform in a stable manner under pressure.
- Drive passion, energy, critical thinking, ambition, and growth. Being motivated to make a difference.
