The Role: General Manager – People & Business Services
This incredible Executive level opportunity has been newly developed and is one of those career defining roles, where you will get to take the lead on shaping the People and Business Services functions, whilst working within a soul nourishing ‘for purpose’ organisation like EPIC!
Located at their Headquarters in the stunning Karratha, Western Australia, you will become a valued member of the community and never want to leave! You will lead a great team comprising of professionals within the People, Administration, Assets, Projects and Systems departments. Reporting to the CEO and being one of three sitting at the executive table, your role will be pivotal in leading EPIC’s strategic objectives, and providing best practice leadership and guidance to the management team and beyond.
This role has a broad focus and has a great mix of strategic and operational components. You won’t mind getting your hands dirty on the operations every so often, yet you will know when to lift yourself up and out of operations and work on the future of EPIC. A brief snapshot of the roles’ key responsibilities include:
· Provide strategic advice and support to the CEO and leadership team on all matters within the People and Business Services portfolio.
· Develop and implement strategic HR initiatives that align with EPIC’s mission and objectives.
· Lead and execute the full suite of People programs which will increase engagement, performance, retention and ensure EPIC’s compliance and governance obligations are always met.
· Drive and deliver values led strategic programs which delivers and creates inclusive, supportive, respectful teams throughout its locations.
· Prepare strategic reports to help inform the CEO and Board in all operational decisions which impact the organisation and the people.
· Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.
· Lead the development and delivery of training and development programs.
You
This is a critical position and requires a highly experienced professional with extensive Human Resources knowledge as well as previous leadership experience within a multidisciplinary team. You will be driven by a strong desire to deliver excellent work outcomes and apply a communication focus which will enable everyone to come on board with your ideas.
Being able to effectively prioritise your work, apply your highly attuned attention to detail to all tasks, and consistently demonstrate the highest of confidentiality practices really will set you up to thrive in this role at EPIC.

EPIC is a company for the community, so a passion for working with and supporting our communities is an absolute must!
You will also have:
· A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, or a related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior HR role.
· Strong working knowledge of Australian Industrial Relations and the Fair Work Framework, WHS Legislation, Document Control requirements etc.
· Previous experience with organisational change and transformation programs.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven track record of influencing stakeholders positively and effectively.
· A well-developed coaching and collaborative leadership style which has delivered positive business results in previous positions.
· Strong systems and word processing skills, confidently being able to learn and train people in new systems.
· Experience in the disability or community services sector is highly desirable.

Our ideal candidate will receive a competitive base salary aligned with their experience. They will also have access to over $15,000 per year in salary sacrificing benefits, additional leave, and the option to work a compressed work week.
