Operations Manager - QLD (Insurance Builder)

Who We Are

At Nexus Project Group, we’re more than just a fast-growing construction company - we’re industry specialists in insurance and restoration. We work across domestic, commercial, and industrial sectors, bringing a solution-focused mindset to complex building challenges, all while delivering outstanding customer experiences.

Our reputation is built on consistent delivery — and we’re continuing to raise the bar.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a dynamic and hands-on Operations Manager to lead our Queensland division. Based primarily out of our Pinkenba office, this role involves leading from the front — overseeing estimating, supervision, financial performance, and team development. You’ll guide a skilled team across a wide range of construction and insurance-related projects, ensuring every job is scoped, delivered, and closed out to the highest standard.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and support a high-performing team of Estimators and Supervisors, providing guidance and coaching.
  • Drive best-practice assessing, ensuring accurate scoping, costings, and report preparation to help secure and deliver new works.
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of projects across QLD — on time, on budget, and to a high standard.
  • Monitor operational performance across Queensland and identify opportunities for improvement, cost control, and growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Champion safety, compliance, and a positive team culture in all activities.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven leadership experience in the construction or insurance building industry — ideally in operational, estimating, or project delivery roles.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret financials and drive efficiencies.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and workflow systems (e.g., Prime or similar).
  • Strong interpersonal skills — fostering positive relationships and developing high-performing teams.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach and willingness to travel across QLD as required.
  • A degree in Construction Management or a related discipline is highly regarded but not essential.

Why Join Nexus?

  • Be part of a company where your leadership will have a genuine impact.
  • Work with a supportive, down-to-earth team that values quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Enjoy a varied, fast-paced role in a growing business that backs its people.
