Derwent has offices located in Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney, Wodonga, Auckland and Bendigo.
Their facility in Bendigo produces high integrity steel castings for the mining and transport industries and various engineering applications.
We are seeking to employ a Regional Sales Manager - W.A.
Reporting to the Plant Manager - Bendigo, this role is responsible for the establishment of profitable relationships with clients in Western Australia Regions, along with contractors.
Duties of the role include (but not limited to):
- Drive profitable sales growth in line with business forecasting.
- Conduct regular client visits to mine sites, workshops and corporate offices.
- Identify opportunities for new business within the assigned region and develop plans to convert theses opportunities into future sales.
- Forecast, budget and track account revenues.
- Provide a key point of contact for customer enquiries and resolve customer complaints by investigating problems.
- Prepare annual sales forecasts/projections and maintain records of achieved results.
- Submit monthly reports to the Plant Manager - Bendigo.
- Conduct analysis of existing customer base/orders and ensure appropriate service levels are being provided.
- Adhere to Derwent's Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures.
- Participate in exhibitions and trade shows as required.
The successful candidate would ideally possess the following attributes:
- Previous experience in technical/engineering sales in the mining industry.
- Ability to manage the sales “pipeline” from lead through to close of sale.
- Established communication skills - oral, written and presentation.
- Proven sales and customer service skills.
- Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Strong time management and analytical skills.
- Results oriented
- Aptitude to understand and explain technical information in simple terms.
- Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territories.
- Hold a current and valid driver's licence.
Remuneration will be negotiated with the successful applicant, based on qualification, skill level and experience. Please note, suitable applicants will be required to undergo pre-employment checks, including physical assessment and drug/alcohol screen.
