Under the general direction of the Sales Manager, the Business Development Manager is responsible for executing sales, managing accounts, and supporting marketing within their designated territory in alignment with the overall business strategy. This role aims to generate profitable revenue, increase market share, and differentiate World Courier from competitors.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a strategic commercial plan to meet country goals, using a consultative sales approach to identify customer needs and position Cencora World Courier solutions accordingly. Manage the entire sales funnel from customer segmentation and lead generation to closing and ongoing account management.
  2. Align with Commercial, Marketing, Strategy, Services, and Operations leadership to enhance sales effectiveness and promote our solutions.
  3. Support the Global and Key Account Management programs.
  4. Assist in executing national marketing events and campaigns.
  5. Meet regularly with existing and prospective key customers.
  6. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through research, networking, and cold calling.
  7. Conduct presentations and product demonstrations for prospective clients.
  8. Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
  9. Collaborate with global and regional sales and marketing teams to develop and execute go-to-market plans for all business segments.
  10. Support the sale and implementation of customer-specific solutions with the business development teams.
  11. Manage and develop the local sales territory.
  12. Use analytics to target accounts and drive sales results.
  13. Review and track KPIs.
  14. Develop revenue forecasts and take corrective actions when deviations occur.
  15. Ensure compliance with brand and marketing policies.

Requirements:

  1. An undergraduate degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or related fields; an MBA is preferred.
  2. Alternatively, a solid education in logistics combined with practical sales and marketing experience.
  3. Management or supervision experience in a complex global service environment.
  4. Relevant pharmaceutical industry experience in transport logistics is a plus.
  5. Fluency in English and proficiency in the local language, with German at C2 level.
  6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  7. A strong sense of responsibility, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  8. Receptiveness to change and innovation.
  9. Ability to work accurately, efficiently, and meet deadlines.
  10. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities independently.
  11. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
